What is the Housekeeping Department?

A hotel is an organization comprised of different areas, which in harmony achieve the effectiveness of its function and mission.

There are many, such as reception or the food and beverage department, which are known for directly serving the guest's needs; they are staff members known physically and who even come to form friendships with the guests.

However, one of the great tasks and responsibilities falls to the Housekeeping department, which, like all the staff that make up the hotel, works hard to maintain cleanliness, order, and that aesthetic in the decorations that liven up the hotel.

They are not as well-known as a waiter, entertainer, or bartender might be, but they are certainly there. A department that is mostly women, all members have the same level of importance.

And their work is so subtle, let us explain: When you enter your room and find everything tidy, it seems like it was a cleaning ninja or magic... This is the work of the room attendants, who are in charge of cleaning, rearranging, and replenishing the products in your room. All in record time!

What about cleaning the hallways or common areas? You don't always see them, but these people are recognized for their work in public areas. Even though everyone passes through, uses, or accidentally makes a mess by spilling their drink in the lobby - for example -, the public area staff will always be on guard to keep everything impeccable.

Or when you stay several days at the hotel, or simply want to keep your clothes clean, that is when you turn to the laundry services. There, the staff is extremely careful with the garments they handle, because washing might sound "simple" but doing it correctly is a real challenge.

And they are not only responsible for the garments for service, they also keep their colleagues' uniforms impeccable. Imagine having to leave chefs' jackets looking like new! A quite complicated task, but never impossible for this team.

And who is in charge of all this? It must be a person with a great attitude, careful with details, generous, and very honest. Here we present the managers of our four hotels: Miss Luquin from Royal Solaris Cancún and GR Caribe by Solaris, Miss Margarita from GR Solaris Cancún, and Miss Claudia from Royal Solaris Los Cabos.
