Solaris' bartenders: we reveal their best-kept secrets

We spoke with Diego (Head of Bars) at the Royal Solaris and GR Caribe hotels, who, with his more than 25 years of experience, has won several regional mixology awards. Diego shares some of the secrets that have helped him and the bar team achieve excellence, stay motivated, and perform at their full potential today.

- Achieving the main goal: Satisfy the guest and understand their preferences regarding the taste, color, and texture of their drink. Provide a great experience, as they look for drinks that allow them to enjoy memorable moments at Solaris with their friends or company.

- The 3 principles of mixology:
Cleanliness and hygiene: Healthy customers = happy customers!
Service must be top-notch: "treat others as you would like to be treated."
Offer unique and original drinks.

2nd Frida Kahlo Gastronomic Festival
This year we celebrated the 2nd Mexican food and drink festival, where the bar area played a very important role as around 17 drinks were created, inspired by ancestral Mexico, using ingredients such as prickly pear syrup, cocoa, chili peppers, and worm salt, but above all, our iconic Mexican drinks: tequila and mezcal.

All collaborators received recognition for their hard work and success achieved during the festival. It is a pride for Solaris to have people so dedicated, creative, and capable of creating beautiful, but above all delicious, drinks full of #PasiónSolaris

We share with you a recipe that is easy to prepare at home (courtesy of the Solaris bartenders):

CLERICOT
2 cups of red or white wine
1.5 cups of mineral water
1 tbsp. of sugar
1 cup of lime juice
1 apple, diced
2 strawberries, diced
Grapes, halved (to taste)
Vodka (optional)

Tip: Add passion fruit to give your drink a bittersweet and sophisticated touch, or make it two-toned by adding white wine first and then red wine little by little (the red will float on top of the white) ;)

With this recipe, you'll surely be the life of the party!
