Los Cabos Open, 2017 a top-level event

If you are someone who is passionate about professional tennis, you will certainly be interested in this information.

Only a few cities in the world have the opportunity to host the biggest tournaments that are part of the ATP World Tour, and now, Los Cabos, in Baja California Sur, is the new destination for this prestigious Tour.

Los Cabos is a magical place with crystal-clear waters and an interesting duality: between two seas and a mountainous desert, which makes it a destination that is very difficult not to fall in love with; perhaps it is for this last reason that this tournament will be held once again on the beautiful beaches of Los Cabos.

This edition of the Los Cabos Open will take place at Cabo del Mar in the vicinity of the Delmar International School, in Cabo San Lucas, whose facilities exceed any requirement of an ATP tournament (and only 25 minutes from our hotel).

With the Spaniard Feliciano López (No. 36 and second place in 2016) confirmed from the beginning, the 2017 Open Los Cabos will feature the presence of the Czech Tomas Berdych, currently ranked 13th in the world, who will play in Mexico for the first time.

Berdych, 31, has 13 ATP titles and has finished 7 consecutive seasons in the Top 10. He played the Wimbledon final in 2010 and his highest position in the world ranking was No. 4 (May 18, 2015).

At the top of the Los Cabos Open will be the American Sam Querrey (No. 25), the new champion of the Mexican Open after defeating the Spaniard Rafael Nadal, and who will seek personal revenge in Los Cabos after a surprising first-round elimination in 2016.

Accompanying his compatriot Feliciano López as representatives of Spain, Fernando Verdasco (No. 31) will return to Los Cabos to improve his 2016 performance (first round) and possibly compete in the doubles tournament, where he is defending his semifinal spot. In the current season, the 33-year-old Verdasco has played in the semifinals of Doha and the final of Dubai in singles.

In addition to these established tennis players, the 2017 AMC will include four of the world's tennis promises, who are part of the #NextGenATP category: Karen Khachanov (RUS), Borna Coric (CRO), Frances Tiafoe (USA), and Thanasi Kokkinakis (AUS).
