Experience the passion for fishing in Los Cabos!

Fishing rods and reels on a boat at sunset. Solaris: Corporativa

Some say that a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work, and we know they mean that it is a great experience to share time alongside good friends, in a relaxed environment and, if you are a little lucky, to get a good catch.

So, for them and because of them, for more than 30 years the Bisbee's Black & Blue Marlin Tournaments have been held in the Los Cabos region on the Baja California Peninsula, in Mexico.

Bisbee's is currently holding three tournaments: the East Cape Offshore, which is held every July in Buenavista; the Los Cabos Offshore Charity Tournament, and the Black & Blue Marlin Tournament which take place every October in the port of Cabo San Lucas (Just 25 minutes from our hotel).

Started in 1981 by Bob Bisbee, the Black & Blue Marlin tournament has gone from having six teams with a $10,000 dollar purse, to more than 150 teams with millions of dollars on the line. In 2006, Black & Blue Marlin had its largest total cash payout of $4,165,960 dollars (This was, and still is, the largest payout in the history of sport fishing!).

In 2000, Bisbee expanded to the east side of the Baja California Sur peninsula with the East Cape Offshore Tournament in Buenavista. In addition to marlin, this tournament included dorado and tuna; it became so popular that a third event with the same format was started in 2002 - the Los Cabos Offshore Tournament.

Over the years, each tournament has developed its own personality; with the East Cape Offshore being a more relaxed type of event: "Fishing in Cabo as it used to be," in Los Cabos it takes place a few days before the Black & Blue Marlin, and is nicknamed "The Little Bisbee," which is a very social event full of camaraderie where you can make friends, exchange stories and go fishing for a few days before "The Big Show".

The last tournament in the series, the Bisbee's Black & Blue Marlin Tournament, is hard to describe if you have never been there. It is five days of organized chaos full of excitement. With the beautiful and lively city of Cabo San Lucas as a backdrop, thousands of people crowd the marina walkways to shop, party, and watch huge fish being weighed on the scales in front of the world-famous Puerto Paraiso Plaza.

This year, the Black & Blue Marlin Tournament, the most important sport fishing event in Los Cabos, will be waiting for you from October 24 to 28,

a once-in-a-lifetime experience you will never forget, so don't miss this opportunity!
